Northern Light Webcam

The northern lights webcam is up again at Hotel Rangá!  For several years we have had a web camera outside Hotel Rangá pointed in the direction where the northern lights most often appear. It was very popular with our website visitors and very often caught a great view of the aurora borealis flickering over Hotel Rangá. The camera broke last winter, but today we’re happy to report that we’re up and running again! The new camera has already seen some aurora action. You can view it here: Northern Light Webcam

Hotel Wi-Fi War? Not Hotel Rangá

We just came across this interesting story on the so-called “hotel Wi-Fi war”.  http://www.gadling.com/2012/04/19/the-war-on-hotel-wifi-escalates/  Hotel Rangá offers free wireless Internet access throughout the hotel and wouldn’t think of charging for it. In this time and age we view Internet access as being essential for our guests and something that should be offered free of charge.

Many of our guests use their laptops, iPads and smart phones to plan their day and read up on all the activities and attractions that are available in South Iceland, so having an unrestricted access to the network is helpful in making their stay as enjoyable as possible.
